Description of the Process
Communication skills of physicians are vital to the patient care and organizational morale—but such skills are often under-taught and overlooked . . . until there's a problem.
Individualized skill-building sessions. Starting with a free initial private consultation, I will help the physician identify the his or her communication problems and goals, and develop a plan for achieving them. To achieve the goals and solve the identified problems, the physician will meet periodically with me according to an agreed-upon schedule.
Optional facilitated group mediation.
To help resolve organizational conflicts quickly, and completely, I offer group mediation sessions for any department, health care team or hospital unit experiencing conflict.
At the conclusion of a series of coaching sessions, I will prepare a written summary report. It will review goals, methods, results, and will suggest long-term follow up recommendations for additional development. The contents of any such report given to any health care organization will not disclose any of the physician's private information without written permission.
Physician Coaching Fees
Initial one-hour session—no charge
Thereafter, sessions are normally $125 per session hour. As is the case with all of my clients, a sliding scale is available if there are special circumstances.
